10 Summer Essentials I’m Loving

One of my summer goals is to have as much fun with my kids as possible (which of course to them means snacks on snacks on snacks and pushing all the boundaries) but also being comfortable, because let’s be real: it’s hot and sweaty, all of us are missing our routines, and we need to push the easy button when it comes to getting dressed.

You know what I say: look good, feel good, so we can do good. Well, I’m reallllly practicing that this summer. ha! Here are a few things I’ve been using on repeat this summer:

1. Clean sunscreen is a must for the kiddos and Matt/me, and considering chemical sunscreens, I love how this one goes on. On the same topic, I’m excited to try the tinted sunscreen by Merit as The Minimalist foundation stick is my #1 favorite product.

2. An adventure bag: I’ve used this convertible backpack + purse for daily use over the past 2.5 years and this tote for vacation and weekend getaways. Both are handmade by women in Uganda and both have gotten a lot of use this summer. I also recently added a sling bag for quick in-and-out stops, and I just throw it in my larger tote when needed. 3. Comfortable linen shorts that cover up all the areas I’d like covered 😉 They come out of the dryer ready to wear, no steaming necessary. TTS.

4. Fitted tanks in every color. I have the black and white and cannot get enough of them, so I’m tempted to get the cream, too. Or maybe the one shoulder tank. Or a cropped one. You get the idea- these are my Summer All-Stars!

5. These reusable water balloons that makes every outdoor hang a little more fun are stealing the show. All ages seem to love ’em!

6. Sandals- I CANNOT just pick one. I love these, and these, and these. You’ll notice one of these three pairs of sandals in all my pictures this summer because they’re truly all I wear.

7. I’ve officially found THE swimsuit that hugs the right places, feels so luxe, and is ethically made. Look closely in my first picture and you will notice the texture- it’s so good. One thing to note is it’s a bit more high maintenance to care for. If easy-breezy is more your style, this is my other go-to swimsuit.

8. After more than a decade (not exaggerating) of wearing the same workout clothes, I am grateful that Pact gifted me two new workout sets. I wanted to pick a favorite but honestly I love both this set and this set. It comes down to which color you prefer and what sizes are in stock! 10. A little black tank dress that I’ve worn as a swim coverup, to brunch with friends, date night with Matt, and everything in between. The ribbed fabric elevates it just enough to work for a little bit of every occasion.
